Brothers and Sisters of Local 18:

Local 18’s Business Manager has seen the need to build a Membership Assistance Program.  Our mission is to help the Operating Engineers of Local 18 and their families navigate mental health and addiction issues. We will educate front-line supervisors, provide resources, and guide members through the roadblocks in the mental health system with a boots-on-the-ground approach.

There is a stigma in the construction industry regarding mental health and addiction. Local 18 wants to remove that stigma and start dealing with the issues that affect our home life and workplace performance. We CARE! and want to help but understand that you may not feel comfortable with people knowing you are struggling. That’s okay! You can privately call or log onto our website or app and be just a couple of clicks from help. This puts you in touch with a licensed clinician who can help or get you pointed in a direction to receive the help you are looking for.

Taking steps to prepare for the possibility of a mental health or addiction crisis can help you act quickly and lessen the impact if a crisis occurs. There can be a lot of uncertainty on navigating mental health or addiction. Please understand you are not alone and don’t have to go through it alone. We CARE! We have made local connections with mental health professionals and want to help get you connected. Contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Click on any of our team members below.
